In a world increasingly burdened by climate change and pollution, the lessons we've learned from our parents and older generations are more valuable than ever.

However, it's also time for us to turn the tables and learn from our children.

It's time to stand up for and with them in their fight against the looming climate crisis.

This blog explores the concept of "stubborn optimism" which is a term I’m borrowing from Christiana Figueres who oversaw the 2015 Paris Agreement and is a true hero and climate leader.

Also, why it's crucial for us to adopt this mindset to address the pressing challenges of our time.

Stubborn optimism is the mindset we need to transform the world we have into the world we want.

At a global level, we are facing an accelerating climate emergency, and the stakes couldn't be higher.

The next decade is pivotal in the history of humankind, and our actions will determine the world our children and future generations inherit.

The 2020s have been dubbed the "decisive decade" for climate action.

If we continue on our current path of inaction, we risk condemning our descendants to a world marred by disease, famine, conflict, and irreversible ecosystem failures.

On the flip side, if we take aggressive measures to cut greenhouse gas emissions in half over the next 10 years, we can usher in an era of green cities, clean air, efficient energy and transportation systems, abundant jobs, and a regenerated environment.

The responsibility for this transformation falls on all of us, irrespective of age.

We all share the duty to take action and the opportunity to create a better world.

While the specific actions we take may vary, it all begins with our mindset.

Let’s put the power of positive mindset to work for this worthy cause.

Stubborn optimism is not about turning a blind eye to reality or blindly hoping problems will vanish on their own.

It's about believing in our ability to tackle challenges head-on. Just as a positive mindset can drive personal success, it can also fuel global change.

A positive mindset was instrumental in achieving the historic Paris Agreement in 2015, which laid the groundwork for global decarbonization.

However, stubborn optimism isn't all sunshine and rainbows.

It requires determination and relentlessness.

We must persist in the face of obstacles and setbacks, remaining resolute in our pursuit of a better future.

Millions of children are taking to the streets, asking us what we are doing to secure their future.

Their eyes mirror the gaze of seven generations before them, seeking answers.

We, as adults, are the stewards of the future, and we must respond to their call.

Come and join the family of stubborn optimists.

The future we want is within reach, but it demands a shift in mindset.

I invite you to ask yourself what future you envision and what steps you are taking to make it a reality.

Becoming a stubborn optimist is not just a choice; it's a necessity.

Together, with relentless determination and radical collaboration, we can shape a safer, healthier, and more just world.

Welcome to the future—a future driven by stubborn optimism.
