Are you tired of the toxic fumes and harmful emissions during a project and lingering odors after you have coated a surface?

I know I was and In this blog I’ll tell you my choice to switch to a cleaner option.

30 years ago I stared using water-based, green coatings on all my projects and never looked back.

Let’s take a look at making a splash in the world of environmentally conscious choices.

Discover the transformative power of water-based products and coatings – the key to reducing air pollution, minimizing water contamination, and creating a cleaner, greener future.

1. Clearing the Air: A Breath of Fresh, VOC-Free Coatings

Bid farewell to volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and their detrimental effects on your health and the environment.

Water-based paints boast significantly lower VOC levels, emitting fewer harmful substances into the air during the drying process.

The evaporation of solvents from oil-based coatings and high VOC’s can be uncomfortable for workers and building occupants or even flat out hazardous to their health.

For this reason, many projects make use of water-based coatings. These also reduce the concentration of flammable materials that build up in a confined space.

Take a deep breath and enjoy a painting experience that puts your well-being first with water-based products.

2. Green Revolution: Protecting Our Water Sources

Water pollution is a growing concern, but with water-based coatings, you can be part of the solution.

These eco-friendly paints are less likely to contaminate water sources, reducing the risk of water pollution.

Join the movement towards sustainability and preserve our precious waterways for future generations.

3. Beyond Beauty: The Practical Advantages of Water-Based Paints

It's not just about being environmentally friendly – water-based paints offer practical benefits too.

Discover how these wonders make repainting a breeze, allowing for more frequent applications within state regulations.

With proper preparation and quality controls, they stand toe-to-toe and even surpass previous oil-based systems in rust prevention.

Also, they easily protect surfaces with 20 year, renewable life cycles.

This includes roofing which takes the most overall abuse from extreme weather and harsh attack from the elements.

Eliminating the need for costly tear off, removal and disposal.

4. Easy Cleanup, Big Impact: The Sustainable Choice

Picture this: easy cleanup that doesn't harm the environment.

Water-based coatings, with water as their main ingredient, provide a sustainable and eco-friendly choice.

Cleaning up brushes and equipment is safe and easy unlike harsh solvent based coatings that need other solvent based products to clean equipment, then leave behind toxic cleaning fluid that needs proper disposal.

Say goodbye to harsh chemicals and embrace a water-based painting solution that not only transforms your space but also contributes to a cleaner planet.

In a world where every choice matters, make a splash with water-based wonders – revolutionize your painting experience while safeguarding the environment.

It's time to paint a brighter, greener future!

The three options of dealing with asbestos are removal, do nothing and the more practical, widely accepted method of in-place management. I’ll be examining the option of in-place management which is often the best choice for many projects.

The first time I heard about Earth Day was when I was in the eighth grade and my well admired and clever science teacher opened up a discussion on the cons of earth day stating it was some sort of liberal nonsense and a hoax. This agitated most of the class. He further stirred the pot by claiming that it didn’t matter how much pollution we caused, that the planet could take care of itself. He went on to say that the oceans were so vast and deep enough that we could go on dumping in them for hundreds of years and never have a negative impact. We could continue to let industry spew out pollutants into the air and never face any consequences. He was insistent that we could deposit waste where ever and how ever we wanted and that the earth and environment would, as if by magic, absorb it all.

Asbestos and lead-based paint – you know them well. They lurk in older schools, housing complexes, military installations and other buildings, waiting silently to inflict disease and sometimes death on their occupants. Today, asbestos-containing materials (ACM) are found in over 700,000 buildings in the United States, and loose, flaking, or peeling lead-based paint (LBP) is present in more than 72 million United States homes, schools, and other buildings constructed before 1978.

Every year damaging winds accompany hurricanes, typhoons and other strong wind events that leave a trail of destruction. Building and home owners are left with devastating huge building repairs and replacement costs. Some of these buildings can be salvaged and made stronger, defending against the next storm. Others are a complete write-off. It’s not unusual in all the destruction to see a building or house left standing with its roof and walls intact. This is usually a structure that is wind-resistant and better prepared to defend against a strong weather onslaught.
